Rumichaca-Pasto highway PPP

Overview:

• Rumichaca-Pasto highway PPP.
• In 2018, Concesionaria Vial Unión del Sur has obtained financing to develop the Rumichaca-Pasto highway on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis. The lenders were JPMorgan Chase and Santander.
• The fourth-generation (4G) highway is one among number to receive financing under Colombia's Highways for Prosperity infrastructure plan.
• The 80km highway will connect to Colombia's southern border with Ecuador.
• The highway is expected to take four years to build.
• In 2019, the project obtained a $375 million financing with Banco Santander, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Bank of China, Instituto de Crédito Oficial, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Metlife and Citibank and a $200 million financing from Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
