Managing Partner Clemens Hasenauer is Head of Department Corporate Transactions focusing on M&A and public takeover transactions. He heads the Department since the year 2007. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, takeover law, banking and finance, reorganisations and restructurings.

His broad experience includes numerous complex public and private M&A transactions, and he is particularly renowned for structuring large international joint ventures and public takeovers. In past years Clemens regularly advised on Austria’s most prominent transactions.

  • In 2024/25, Clemens advised OMV as lead counsel in connection with the establishment of a USD 60+ billion global polyolefins group, which is unique in Austrian business history. The transaction is the largest in Austrian history to date and one of the most significant in the global energy sector in 2025.
  • In 2024, Clemens advised OMV AG in connection with the intended acquisition by ADNOC of Mubadala's 24.9% interest in OMV. Mubadala's stake in OMV valued at about $4.1 billion.
  • Clemens in 2024 advised the XXXLutz Group in relation to its acquisition of Conforama Iberia (Spain and Portugal). By end of 2024 he further advised the XXXLutz Group in relation with the acquisition of the Porta Group in Germany.
