Benedikt Maurenbrecher

After law clerkship at the District Court of Affoltern (Zurich), he initially joined Homburger in 1994. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, after which he worked in corporate finance for UBS. Benedikt Maurenbrecher became partner in 2002. He headed the Financial Services team 2015 – 2023. In 2020/2021 he was Co-Chair of the Banking and Law Committee of the International Bar Association.

• Advises UBS Switzerland AG in all aspects of setting up and maintaining its key4 mortgage intermediation platform for self owned and income producing real estate

• Advised UBS on debut issuance of USD 3.5 bn AT1 Notes with equity conversion feature
• Advised UBS Switzerland on the establishment of its Covered Bond Programme and the issuance of USD 1.4 bn Covered Bonds in last 12 months
• Advised Basler Kantonalbank in connection with the issuance of CHF 105 m Digital Bonds by the Canton of Basel-Stadt
• Advised UBS on inaugural SEC registered offering of benchmark bonds in aggregate principal amount of USD 3 bn
