Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant E£2.4 billion project financing

Overview:

• The Ministry of Finance of Egypt was responsible for the design, financing, construction and operation of a secondary treatment stage for the Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the expansion, operation and maintenance of the existing primary treatment facilities with a total capacity of 1.6 million cubic meter per day.
• This would be one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world, and is the first project under the new PPP program to include a brownfield element.
