Overview:

  • Trans Adriatic Pipeline is an 878 kilometres pipeline project that will transport natural gas from Greece via Albania and the Adriatic Sea to Italy and Western Europe.
  • The gas will originate from Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan.
  • In 2018, TAP obtained €3.9 billion project financing from 17 commercial banks alongside the EBRD and EIB.
  • The pipeline is expected to start operations in 2020.
