Norton Rose Fulbright has opened an office in Papua New Guinea.

Karo Lelai, who will be the local principal of the office, joins from Kumal Minerals where she was general counsel. Her role will be to laison with Norton Rose Fulbright's offices in Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia with support from Anthony Latimer and Steve Johns, who are both corporate partners in the firm's Sydney office.

The Papua New Guinea office is located in Port Moresby. It will have a focus of energy, mining, infrastructure and telecommunications practices.

The firm has recently formed an alliance with Bull Housser in Vancouver in September this year.
