Rima Mrad is a Partner in BSA LAW’s Corporate and M&A practice.
Her core expertise includes advising public and private clients and financial institutions on general corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial agencies, antitrust and competition law, restructuring and regulatory and compliance matters. Rima has also advised and assisted international clients in developing their businesses across the GCC.
Rima has been appointed on several occasions to assist government agencies and departments on gap analysis projects, advising on regulatory improvements in line with best practices. Her experience in drafting laws and regulations is frequently sought after and widely recognized.
Rima was recognized as a leading woman in the legal industry by Executive Women Magazine and was selected as the face of the magazine. She was also named one of the top 10 most influential women lawyers in the GCC on two occasions and was recognized by Financial News London as one of the 50 most influential women in Middle East finance.
Rima is an active practitioner and a strong promoter of pro bono initiatives across the jurisdictions in which she practices, including organizing the annual BSA Legal Clinic. She is a regular contributor to legal articles and guides and has co-authored two books, Islamic Finance: A Practical Guide and Insurance and Reinsurance in the MENA Region: A Legal and Regulatory Guide, both published by Globe Law and Business in the UK.
