Benedict F. Christ, LL.M. is a corporate/M&A partner with twenty years' experience. He heads VISCHER's insolvency and restructuring practice group. Ben is a versed M&A advisor and negotiator experienced across a broad spectrum of complex national and cross-border transactions and business matters including restructuring, distressed M&A, real estate, TMT, transport, finance and private equity transactions. Prior to joining VISCHER in 2002, Ben had been working with Mayer Brown in New York.

  • Advised the business' founder and majority shareholder of Swissterminal, the leading container terminal operator in Switzerland, on entering into a strategic partnership with Dubais's DP World, which purchased a 44% stake in Swissterminal Holding AG.
  • Advised Westermo in the Swiss law aspects of purchasing 100% of the shares of Neratec Solutions AG a technology company specialized in WLAN products for the train and trackside sector.
  • Advised wefox Group in the matter of being one of the fastest growing fintech companies coming out of Europe seeking to reinvent the entire insurance business by raising USD 125 million in B round.
  • Advised the sellers of Berenberg as the in Hamburg-based private bank Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG sold a majority stake in its subsidiary Berenberg (Schweiz) AG. 
  • Advised Bâloise to acquire approximately 70% of Pax Anlage AG for two major investors and making a public tender offer for the balance of the SIX Swiss Exchange listed shares.
