Founded in 1986, Wong Tan & Molly Lim has built a strong reputation across multiple practice areas since its establishment by partners who previously practised at Singapore's first Magic Circle firm. The firm reached a significant milestone in 2017 by forming a formal law alliance with Watson Farley & Williams, operating as WFW & WTL.  

Among its notable practitioners, Molly Lim was appointed in 1998 as one of Singapore's first three female senior counsel. The firm is currently led by joint managing directors Ong Beng Hong and Philip Ling.
