The firm has a particular strong background in advising on large financing mandates in the region. For example, Waselius provided legal advice to the Howden Group, a global insurance broker, on it’s $6.1 billion refinancing of combined notes and loans. Partner Maria Lehtimäki and senior associate Essi Hietaoja in the coordination and legal queires relating to the transaction security and insolvency law matters.  

In Capital markets debt work the firm played a role as local counsel representing First Quantum Minerals on its $1.6 billion project loan and the amendment and extension of the clients credit corporate bank creidt facilities. It is recorded as the largest mining yield deal of the decade across the globe
