Mercury UK Holdco €1.035 billion acquisition of Setefi Processing and Intesa Sanpaolo Card

Overview:

• Mercury UK Holdco has acquired Setefi Services and Intesa Sanpaolo Card from Intesa Sanpaolo for €1.035 billion.
• Both services are payment processing platforms with Setefi Processing an Italian platform while ISP Card focuses on transactions in Central and Eastern Europe.
• Mercury UK Holdco is owned by a consortium of funds managed by Advent International, Bain Capital and Clessidra.
• The deal is supposed to close by the end of 2016.
• The deal follows on from the acquisition of Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane (ICBPI) by Mercury HoldCo in 2015.
