Beijing Jianguang Asset Management $1.8 billion acquisition of RF Power

Overview:

• Beijing Jianguang Asset Management (JAC Capital) has acquired the RF Power Business of NXP Semiconductors for $1.8 billion.
• The target is a RF power amplifiers business primarily focused on the cellular basestation market.
• Following the acquisition the business was renamed Ampleon. The company has 1250 staff.
• JAC Capital is a subsidiary of JIC Capital which is a Chinese state-owned investment company. JAC Capital was established for the purpose of investing in the high tech industry
• In October 2016 NXP was acquired by Qualcomm.
