Rabobank merger of local member banks

Overview:

• Rabobank has merged its 106 local member banks as part of a shift in the governance of the company.
• The deal sees the local banks agree a new governance structure where the local branches are represented at the bank's general member's counsel.
• The new entity had a balance sheet of €675 billion as of January 2016.
