Norfininvest $235 acquisition of 12.23% stake in Equity Bank

Overview:

• Norfininvest acquired a 12.223% stake in Equity Bank, a Nairobi based financial services provider, from Helios Investment Partners.
• Norfininvest is jointly owned by Norfund, the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries, and Norfinance.
• Equity Bank is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Uganda Securities Exchange.
• Helios Investment Partners is a London-based private equity firm with offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Nigeria.
• After the close of the acquisition, Helios Investment Partners sold its remaining stake and is no longer an investor in Equity Bank.
