Mid Europa Partners €533 million acquisition of Profi Rom Food

Overview:

• Mid Europa Partners has acquired Profi Rom Food for €533 million from Polish Enterprise Fund VI (PEF VI).
• The deal is believed to be the largest private equity acquisition in Romanian history.
• Profi is Romania's largest supermarket with over 500 stores and more than 11,000 employees.
• PEF VI is a fund managed by Enterprise Investors.
• PEF VI acquired the supermarket chain in 2010 for €66 million.
• The deal is the second significant acquisition in Romania by Mid Europa in so many years after the acquisition in 2015 of Centrul Medical Unirea (Regina Maria).
