Overview:

  • CFE(Comisión Federal de Electricidad), Mexico's state owned electricity company, has issued $1 billion in 4.750% notes due 2027.
  • BBVA, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citigroup acted as joint lead managers and bookrunners. 
  • The notes were considered public debt, according to a statement from Galicia Abogados.  
  • A statement from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton said that the CFE will use the funds raised from the notes for "working capital and general corporate purposes."
