  • In 2018, Turkish consortium of construction companies Cengiz, Kolin and Kalyon offered unsolicited proposal for the construction of Vlora Airport.
  • The initial phase of the construction was set to begin in July 2018 but negotiations with the government broke down.
  • In April 2019, the consortium withdrew from the project.
