Mid-America Apartment Communities $3.88 billion acquisition of Post Properties

Overview:

• Real estate investment trust (REIT) Mid-America Apartment Communities has acquired fellow REIT Post Properties in a $3.88 billion deal.
• Post will be absorbed under the Mid-America name.
• The combined company owns 317 different properties and 105,000 multifamily units.
