Overview:

  • The Dominican Republic has issued $1 billion 6.5% bonds due 2048 and DOP$40 billion 8.9% bonds due 2023 in the international capital markets.
  • These were said to be the first local currency bonds issued by the country in the international capital markets. 
  • Citigroup Global Markets and JP Morgan Securities acted as initial purchasers.
