Overview:

  • Cable & Wireless Communications has acquired Columbus International for $1.85 billion.
  • This will be paid through $707.5 million in cash and 36% of CWC's share capital.
  • CWC obtained $2.63 billion of financing from JPMorgan Chase to fund the acquisition. 
  • CWC later issued $750 million 6.875% senior notes due 2022 to repay loans in connection to this acquisition.
