IMM Private Equity $700 million acquisition of Mars Entertainment

Overview:

• IMM Private Equity, CJ Group—a South Korean conglomerate holding company—and co-investors have acquired Mars Entertainment for $700 million.
• CJ CGV operates 249 multiplex theaters with a total of 1,853 screens in South Korea, the US, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar.
• Mars Entertainment, which is the largest Turkish theater chain company, owns 83 multiplexes with 736 screens under the Cinemaximum brand.
