Hyundai $674 million acquisition of Hyundai Capital Services

Overview:

• Hyundai has acquired a 20.1% stake of Hyundai Capital Services for W770 billion ($674 million) from GE Capital.
• This transaction marks the end of GE Capital’s 11-year joint venture with Hyundai Motor group in Korea.  
• GE Capital still maintains 20% shares in Hyundai Capital Services after the above-described transaction, and the remaining 20% stake is expected to be sold to a third party.
