Carlyle Group $8 billion acquisition of Veritas

Overview:

• Carlyle Group has acquired information management systems provider Veritas—owned by Symantec Corporation—for $8 billion.
• This was one of the largest US technology leveraged buyouts in 2015.
• Veritas provides data storage and server management software and generated $2.6 billion in revenue in the 2015 fiscal year.
