Overview:

• Bara 1980MW coal power plant.
• SPV Prayagraj Power Generation Company (established by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation) is constructing a coal based super-critical power plant in Uttar Pradesh.
• The project has three planned phases: Phase 1, comprises three 660MW units, phase 2 would comprise two 660MW units. Phase 3 is yet to be announced.
• State Bank of India is lending to the project.
