MRT-7 $2 billion Project

Overview:

• The MRT-7 project involves the construction of a 22-km train line with 14 stations from San Jose del Monte in Bulacan to the corner of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue in Quezon City. It also involves a 22 km six-lane road from the MRTS depot in Bulacan.
• San Miguel Corporation obtained control of the project by acquiring a majority stake in Universal LRT Corporation (ULC), which is the concessionaire of the MRT-7 project. The concession agreement was obtained by ULC from the government through the Department of Transportation and Communications in 2008.
• San Miguel Corporation started construction related activities in February 2016, with completion anticipated in April 2020.
