Çanakkale 1915 Bridge and motorway

Overview:

• The project Çanakkale 1915 Bridge, which is part of the Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Balıkesir motorway project, is currently under construction at the western end of the Sea of Marmara between the towns of Gelibolu and Lapsek.
• When complete, at 3,869m it will be the longest suspension bridge in the world. It will be 36m wide and will carry three traffic lanes in each direction.
• The construction of the bridge will be carried out by a consortium of the South Korean groups Daelim and the SK Group, along with Turkish companies Limak Holding and Yapı Merkezi.
