Yulchon – one of the six largest firms in South Korea – has opened up a new office in Moscow. Senior foreign counsel Hwajoon Lee will be heading the firm’s new office, which is its fifth overseas.

The firm has been active in the Russian market and recently advised Lotte on the acquisition of property in St. Petersburg to develop a hotel, and on the acquisition of Shopping mall in Moscow. The firm also advised GS Home Shopping on its joint venture with Rostelecom.

“The Moscow office will serve as an advanced outpost facilitating the entry of Korean businesses into Russia,” Lee said. “Through this positioning, we expect to grow together and share in the success of the Korean businesses that will be entering Russia.”

Yulchon opened its first overseas office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2007. Since then, the firm has opened offices in Hanoi, Beijing and Yangon.
