Romanian firm Vilau & Mitel has split as the name partners Dragos Vilau and Sorin Mitel have taken the decision to end their association.
The firm, which has been in existence since 2003 when the two partners left Muşat & Asociaţii, announced the decision at the beginning of September. Two new firms have formed as a result, the 20 lawyer Mitel & Asociatii which includes partners Sorin Mitel, Madalina Paisa and Magda Dima and the 22 lawyer firm Vilau Associates led by partners Dragos Vilau and Iuliana Dejescu.
Sorin Mitel, managing partner of Mitel & Asociatii said: “In the following period we shall concentrate on the development of the firm. The main focus will be the expansion of the team and the consolidation of certain practice areas by recruiting reputable professionals, the set-up of territorial offices and the provision of legal assistance services which will correspond both to the clients’ needs and to our own standards of excellence.”
