Singapore-based Straits Law has merged with another local firm M Rama Law to strengthen the firm’s insurance litigation capabilities. 

Taking effect at the start of this year, the merger brings the total number of lawyers to 35 and other staff to 60. M Rama Law will move into Straits Law’s office location and work under its name.

Founded in 2001, Straits Law specialises in insurance and reinsurance work as well as in general commercial and civil litigation arising from disputes with third parties from insurance business recovery actions.

Its work also covers areas such as commercial litigation, criminal and regulatory litigation, banking and finance, corporate finance, M&A, restructuring and insolvency, infrastructure and project finance, real estate, and includes an India practice group.

M Rama Law built up its brand with a specialisation in insurance work relating to general insurance cases, involving motor, work injury, fire, public liability, contractors all risks, product liability, inland transit, travel and professional indemnity.
