Morgan Lewis & Bockius has hired a new funds partner to add to its expanding practice in the city-state.

Alice Huang joins from PRC firm Fangda Partners, where she was a partner advising on fund formation and asset management.

Maurice Hoo, head of Morgan Lewis’s Hong Kong private equity practice said: "Her practice will…mesh perfectly with our global investment funds and investment management practice in Tokyo, London, Singapore, Dubai, and the United States."

Huang advises fund sponsors based in the United States and Asia in the formation, structuring, and ongoing management of private funds active in China; and also acts for institutional investors, including sovereign and pension funds, in investments in global private funds.

In Hong Kong the firm operates in association with local firm Luk & Partners led by former Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe capital markets head Edwin Luk, who joined alongside 8 other partners in January as Morgan Lewis expanded into Greater China.
