Beijing law firm JunHe has hired a new corporate partner to strengthen its Hong Kong corporate offering.

Adam Cheng joins JunHe's Hong Kong office as partner from US law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, where he was counsel focusing on cross-border investment transactions related to Chinese companies.

At Skadden Cheng advised state-owned China Three Gorges on a $3 billion investment in power generator Energias de Portugal.

Prior to Skadden, he also had worked at Herbert Smith Freehills and Sidley Austin in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Chicago.

With the arrival of Cheng, JunHe now has eight partners in Hong Kong.
