Domański Zakrzewski Palinka (DZP) has hired IFLR1000 Leading Lawyer Rafał Hajduk to lead its energy advisory team.

Hajduk joins from Norton Rose Fulbright and focuses on finance, projects and M&A work in the energy and oil and gas sectors.

He is bringing with him a team consisting of senior associate Grzegorz Filipowicz and associates: Anna Konopka, Natalia Jankowska and Mateusz Koszel.

Prior to joining the NRF he had spent 11 years at CMS.

Hajduk's recent work includes advising Abris Capital Partners on the €123 million sale of Novago to China Everbright International (Deal Data record); and advising Fortum Holding on the €100 million acquisition of Grupa Duon (Deal Data record).

Hajduk also advised on the Torun 330MW gas-fired power plant (Deal Data record) advising Polskie Inwestycje Rozwojowe alongside DZP who advised EDF Polska.

The move is a significant boost for DZP and is a rare example in the Polish market of a domestic firm hiring from an international one.

In the most recent IFLR1000 rankings NRF was ranked in Tier 1 in the energy table and it will be interesting to see what the firm's response is to losing one of its most significant names in the sector.
