Clyde & Co is set to raid Linklaters ally Webber Wentzel for at least five lawyers as it expands into South Africa. The firm said it will shortly open offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

It has been confirmed that two partners and a consultant in Johannesburg and two partners in Cape Town will come from local firm Webber Wentzel. Clyde also plans to hire a further 10 lawyers in Johannesburg and three lawyers in Cape Town before the practices are launched.
