Ashurst has reinforced its private equity practice with the addition of a new partner from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in London.
Shaun Lascelles focuses on private equity M&A and is an IFLR1000 Leading lawyer. He was the US firm's global head of private equity untill earlier in 2015.
He has advised the likes of Vitol Group on its acquisition of Shell's Australian downstream business and acted for Doughty Hanson on its sale of Vue Entertainment.
The hire comes after Ashurst lost a number of its corporate lawyers to Gibson Dunn in 2014/15, including Charlie Geffen, Nigel Stacey, Mark Sperotto and Jonathan Earle.
