Ashurst’s Indonesian affiliate, Oentoeng Suria & Partners, has expanded its projects practice to take advantage of increased investment in the wake of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Frederic Draps joins the firm from Allen & Overy’s associated firm Ginting & Reksodiputro where he worked for 13 years and most recently served as counsel.

Ashurst Asia head Patrick Phua commented: “We anticipate significant opportunities and a strong pipeline in the energy and infrastructure sectors across Southeast Asia. The firm continues to invest resources to enhance our offering.”

Draps focuses on project finance and development in sectors such as oil and gas, mining, power and renewable energy. He is the latest addition to Ashurst’s practice in Asia, following the hire of Michelle Phang in Singapore by ADTLaw - Ashurst’s Formal Law Alliance (FLA) partner in Singapore.
