Christine Sijuwade is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Advisory, Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions teams.
She advises private equity funds and fund managers throughout the life cycle of such funds – from fund formation to structuring, documenting, and executing investments/acquisitions and co-investments, through to exits. She is a core member of the team that advises local and international private equity firms on their equity investments in various Nigerian companies, including companies in the insurance, telecommunications, food and beverage and manufacturing sectors.

Prior to re-joining the firm, Christine was the Group General Counsel & Chief Operating Officer at Tangerine Africa - a financial services group with businesses in the life, general and health insurance as well as the pensions sector. In this role, she worked closely with business leaders, providing strategic counsel aligned with broader business objectives. She acts as a trusted advisor to boards and executive teams, offering commercially attuned legal guidance shaped by extensive regulatory interactions across various industries, including capital markets, insurance, pensions, and HMO sectors.

  • Led the team that advised Actis LLP in connection with the establishment and formation of a Nigerian fund to invest in stabilised, yielding real estate assets in the capital cities of Nigeria.
  • Advised Equinix on its USD320 million acquisition of the entire share capital of MainOne Cable Company.
  • Advised Verod Capital Management Limited on the Investment Advisory Agreement in connection with the formation of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Verod Capital Growth Funds.
  • Advised FBN Quests Funds Limited on the establishment of its pioneer Nigerian fund as well as the registration of the fund with the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Led the team that advised Student Accomod8 in connection with its NGN300 million debt financing by Chapel Hill Denham's Nigeria Infrastructure Fund - a transaction which is instrumental to the continued provision of affordable student housing across Nigeria by StudentAccomod8.
