Peter Feyl is a partner in Schoenherr's Vienna office, where he specialises in banking and securities law. He represents Austrian and international banks and financial institutions (such as insurance companies and investment fund management companies) in (mainly) transactional work. He regularly deals with all aspects of financing, securitisation transactions and questions of securities law. Another focus of his practice is regulatory advice (frequently transactional advice). Peter's practice also includes several listed and unlisted issues of own funds instruments for banks and insurance companies. Peter is active in other fields of finance law, such as acquisition, project and asset finance, inventory financing and cash-pooling arrangements. He advises Austrian and foreign investment funds and asset managers on Austrian investment fund law (including regulatory aspects). His experience also includes mergers and acquisitions of banks as well es corporate finance. Peter graduated from the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1984) and thereafter earned a post-graduate degree from the University of Virginia (LLM. 1986).

  • Advised the board of the Austrian pharmaceutical wholesaler Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG (Herba Chemosan) on the management buy-out;
  • Advised UNIQA Insurance Group AG, one of the leading insurance groups in Austria and CEE, on its successful issue of new EUR 375m green tier 2 notes and concurrent repurchase of existing subordinated notes in the same principal amount;
  • Advised UNIQA on the acquisition of AXA subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia for a purchase price of around EUR 1bln.
