Motaz El Dreny is the Founder and Managing Partner of Dreny & Partners, and heads the Capital Market/Financial Services department, as well as, the Corporate and M&A teams. With a career spanning over 22 years, he is an expert in the corporate & securities fields, with a focus on debt and equity offerings. Motaz has extensive experience in various types of capital market transactions, including public offerings, private placement, and debt restructuring. In addition, El Dreny is renowned in the Corporate and M&A field, where he advises international and local entities on major deals, resulting in significant growth that is attributed to the firm. He advised leading corporate, financial institutions and governmental bodies, where his name appeared on many of the challenging, high profile & significant offerings in recent years.

  • Advised Vodacom's €2.5 billion acquisition of 55% stake in Vodafone Egypt.
  • Legal advisor for the sellers on the sale of Fancy Foods SAE to Edita Food Industries SAE, with the transaction being valued at E£ 380 million.
  • legal counsel for several venture capital debt facilities for Beltone Venture Capital S.A.E; a leading financial services provider with a multi-decade track record of success in the MENA region.
  • Represented a syndicate of 22 lenders for the arranging of Egypt’s largest locally long-term syndicated loan underwritten E£ 6 billion.
  • legal advisor for the lenders in a syndicated finance deal of 12.3 billion, between 11 banks in Egypt and borrower; Gharably Integrated Engineering Company.
  • Advised Arab African International Bank in granting Sky Investments a MTL amounting to 1.3 billion to partially finance the investment cost of Park Street Complex.
  • Advised Premium International Company for Credit Services securitization transaction amounting to E£ 170,150,000.
  • Advised New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) on its E£ 10 billion bond issuance.
  • Advised Egypt’s leading BNPL; ValU on Egypt’s 1st Fintech bond asset backed securities transaction amounting to E£ 322.550 million of a E£ 2 billion short-term multiple issuance program.
  • Advised ValU's securitization transactions for their consumer finance portfolios which comes as part of their 2nd wider multi-issuance program with a total value of E£ 9 billion.
  • Advised Premium International for Credit Services (Premium Card) on its program of multiple securitization issuances worth E£ 2 billion.
  • Advised New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) largest ever securitization transaction in Egypt amounting to E£ 20 billion, followed by another two consecutive transactionsamounting to E£ 30 billion.
