He acted as counsel in many corporate transactions, including joint ventures and other strategic alliances, sale of assets and shares of stock, and corporate and project financing. Together with other lawyers of the firm, Mr. de Leon worked on some of the biggest M&A transactions in the Philippines.

  • Advised a syndicate of international banks in the US$345 million financing of 300 mW power plant of SMC Consolidated Power Corporation;
  • Advised International Finance Corporation (IFC) in connection with IFC’s purchase of certain notes due 2021 (the “Notes”) issued by Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (the “Bank”) under the Bank’s US$1,000,000,000 Medium Term Note Programme;
  • Advised Philips in connection with the implementation of its decision to split into two separate businesses: healthcare/consumer lifestyle and lighting;
  • Advised a Spanish renewal energy firm in connection with the supply of equipment and services for a solar power plant in the Philippines.
