Dr. Hani Sarie-Eldin has 38 years of local and international experience in International Arbitration, Business Law, including Commercial Law, Capital Markets, Privatization, Corporate Funding, Project Funding, Acquisitions, and construction contracts. 
He advises on major transactions taking place in Egypt, and in the Middle East and North Africa region related to the above-mentioned areas. 
Dr. Sarie-Eldin worked as a lecturer in the law and economic development at Queen Mary College, University of London, and was appointed as a lecturer at the Center for Commercial Law Studies at the same college, where he specialized in legislative reform and economic development in developing countries. 
He was involved in drafting various vital Egyptian Laws and Regulations such as the Egyptian Banking Law, Concession Law, Antitrust Law, Consumer Protection Law, Takeover Regulation, Mutual Fund & Private Equity Regulation, Price Manipulation & Insider Trading Regulation, and Corporate Governance rules for listed companies on the stock exchange, in addition to advising various governments in the region on legal reforms including the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Kuwait, and Sudan. 
Dr. Sarie-Eldin also served as an expert, and was appointed as a sole arbitrator, CO arbitrator and Chairman in more than 50 international arbitrations under DIAC (UAE), CRCICA (Egypt), and the ICC in Paris. 
Dr. Sarie-Eldin is an associate Professor of Commercial & Maritime Law at Cairo University teaching Banking, Commercial Law, Arbitration and Corporate Law.  
Dr. Sarie-Eldin supervises PH.D students in Commercial and Banking Law. 
In his capacity as Chairman of the Egyptian Capital Market Authority (now the Financial Regulatory Authority), Dr. Sarie-Eldin led the regulatory capital market reform process in Egypt. 
 
Dr. Hani Sarie-Eldin has an extensive experience in management and development of the performance of joint-stock companies; where he participates in the board of directors of a number of companies including the following: 

  • A Non-Executive Chairman of Mezzane Advisors,
  • Vice-Chairman of Philip Morris – Egypt,
  • Board Member of Bedaya Mortgage Finance,
  • Board Member of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) and the Chairman of the Audit Committee,
  • Board Member in Arafa Holding Group.
  • Board Member of CI Capital Holding and the Chairman of the Audit Committee,
  • Board Member of the Egyptian Real Estate Fund,
  • Board Member in the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council. 

Dr. Hani Sarie-Eldin is on board of many nonprofits foundations: 

  • Board Member of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
  • Board Member of Trustees of Nile University.
  • Board Member of the Egyptian British Business Council.
  • Board member of the International Advisory Board for School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, AUC.

  • Advised Ezz Steel on its voluntary delisting from the EGX, including the EGP 23.8 billion acquisition of the minority stake through a share buyback offer at EGP 138.15 per share.
  • Advised TMG on Banan Project that was a collaboration between TMG and the National Housing Company in Saudi Arabia valued at SAR 11B. 
    Advised TMG on the development of a smart, integrated residential city in Sultan Haitham City, Oman valued at 300M Omani riyal.
  • Advised and represented the United Tobacco Company in participating and winning an auction announced by the Industrial Development Authority to obtain the second license of manufacturing the traditional and electronic cigarettes. The capacity of the Company productions is to produce around one billion cigarettes per year.
  • Advised Talaat Moustafa Group in relation to the launch of “Misr Real Estate Fund 1” in a strategic Partnership with Banque Misr with total contribution of up to EGP 500 M.
