Ganiyat is an Associate in the power and infrastructure team in the Firm, and has garnered experience from routinely advising sponsors, lenders, project developers and government entities on various aspects of the financing, development and acquisition within the power and infrastructure space. In a relatively short period, she is rising through the ranks and is fast becoming a trusted adviser to her clients in offering legal and commercial solutions that arise in energy and infrastructure transactions.

  • FGN Power Company Limited (FGNPC) with respect to the implementation of the Presidential Power Initiative Phase 1 (the PPI). The PPI seeks to address the prevalent challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry by modernizing the power transmission and distribution infrastructure throughout Nigeria and will be implemented by FGNPC. It is a strategic and systematic approach to solving Nigeria’s perennial problems of unreliable and inadequate electricity supply;
  • BUA Cement Plc on the grant of a US$ 500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million United States Dollars) term loan by International Finance Corporation amongst other senior lenders for the expansion of BUA’s integrated cement plant from 2.0 million tons per annum to 8.0 million tons per annum, procuring of quarrying equipment and the construction of 120 MW of captive gas-fired power plants and 10 MW of renewable energy plants;
  • Consortium Nigeria Future Airports comprising (a) Corporación América Airports S.A.; (b) Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construção África, SA; and (c) Mota-Engil Nigeria Limited in connection with the proposed concession of: (a) Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Cargo terminals in Abuja; and (b) Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and Cargo terminals in Kano, Nigeria;
  • Konexa in relation to the development, design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a 278 kilowatts peak solar photovoltaic power generation facility, with a connected battery energy storage system, and a back-up diesel power generation at KD-1 Zipline, Pambegua, Kaduna State, Nigeria;
  • Konexa on the electricity distribution franchising project which is primed to revolutionize electricity distribution in Nigeria and improve access to electricity for Nigerians;
  • Chapel Hill Denham Infrastructure Fund on the proposed grant of certain credit facilities to Tizeti Network Limited, a fixed wireless broadband internet service provider, which provides high speed broadband internet to residences, businesses, events, conferences and deploys public wi-fi hotspot at locations across Africa, for the purpose of expanding its reach across Nigeria.
  • Kasada GP Limited in connection with Kasada’s proposed acquisition of Ikoyi Hotels Ltd (the Target). The Target is the owner of Southern Sun Ikoyi and the adjacent Golden Gate commercial building in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • The syndicate of lenders on the 450 MW Azura Edo Independent Power Project - the first project financed independent power project in Nigeria and the first power generation project in Nigeria to receive World Bank Partial Risk Guarantee and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency support.
