Emma is a director in the firm's Projects and Infrastructure practice and has experience acting for both the public and private sector. Her areas of speciality extend to energy law (including technologies of coal, wind, solar CSP, solar PV, landfill, biomass, gas, thermal energy, hydro, natural gas, carbon capture, and other renewables) and construction. She has experience in multiple jurisdictions, including South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.

• Acting for various developers and financiers in respect of the installation and lease of solar PV rooftop panels in South Africa;

• Advising the Government of Ethiopia in the development of a procurement programme for a 100MW PV plant and a 280MW hydro plant;

• Advised BioTherm Energy in respect of the development of various wind farms and solar farms under the Department of Energy's renewable energy IPP Procurement Programme;

• Advising Eskom in respect of the IPP Procurement Cogeneration Programme and IPP Procurement Coal Baseload Programme.
