Daniel Flühmann is co-head of the Fintech practice group and a partner in Bär & Karrer's financial services department. He advises Swiss and foreign banks and securities dealers as well as insurance companies and other financial services providers on regulatory and contract law matters, in the context of enforcement proceedings, as well as on M&A transactions and general corporate and commercial matters. A special focus of Daniel Flühmann's practice lies on fintech as well as on blockchain technology and the legal framework of its applications in practice.

  • Advised fundinfo on the sale of the Zurich-based fund research business to Allfunds, a leading European fund platform. As part of the transaction, Allfunds and fundinfo have entered into service agreements for the sourcing of additional dynamic and regulatory fund data from fundinfo.
  • Advised Midwinter Capital on the acquisition of Rothschild & Co's worldwide wealth planning and trust services business.
  • Advised Constellium on the Sale of Rolling Business Assets in Sierre, Switzerland, to Novelis, with a deal value of EUR 200 million. The assets, consisting of real estate, machinery and equipment, were previously leased by Constellium Valais to Novelis Switzerland and both parties continue to operate in Sierre following the transaction. Concurrently with the asset sale, Constellium Valais contributed the Sierre site's shared infrastructure to a newly established 50-50 joint venture with Novelis Switzerland.
  • Advised Allianz Suisse on the acquisition of DAS Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG. Through this acquisition, Allianz Suisse became one of the largest providers of legal protection insurance in the Swiss market.
  • Advised UBS on its shared services transfer to UBS Business Solutions AG. The transaction enabled UBS to maintain operational continuity of critical services should a recovery or resolution occur, representing an important step towards improved resolvability in line with global guidance defined by the Financial Stability Board.
