Catriona is a partner in the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group at Matheson. She practices financial services law and works with many of the world’s leading financial institutions, investment banks, asset management companies and service providers carrying on business in Ireland or through Irish vehicles.

Catriona recently advised on the launch of QIAIF ICAVs for two of the world’s largest asset managers. She works with a wide range of domestic and international clients on the structuring, establishment, marketing and sale of investment vehicles (including UCITS and alternative investment funds) in Ireland and her experience includes advising on the implementation of regulatory updates to fund structures and documentation in respect of the introduction of European financial services directives (including AIFMD and UCITS V), cross border mergers and the ongoing servicing (including the launch and termination of sub-funds, change of service providers and listing on the Irish Stock Exchange) of Irish fund structures.

Catriona has completed secondments with two of the world’s largest asset managers. During these secondments she gained particular experience in the negotiation of investment management agreements, and was also heavily involved in the implementation of UCITS V compliance across a fund complex, which involved both contract negotiation and regulatory updates to fund documentation. Catriona is actively involved in the training process in Matheson and acts as mentor to trainees coming through the group.
