The banking team is active across a range of different sectors, acting for borrowers, lenders and sponsors on matters including acquisition financings, corporate lending and refinancing.
In capital markets, the firm takes on debt, equity, and structured finance and securitisation work, advising clients such as issuers, underwriters and shareholders. The team acted on the first securitisation in the Netherlands and has since maintained a strong reputation in the space.
The firm is strong in the M&A space, advising regularly on the market’s most valuable deals. Public offers and private equity work are two particular areas of strength for the firm, and it regularly works for corporates on cross-border deals.
In projects, the firm has experience advising on the financing of projects of national prominence and supports lenders on developments of major highways and flood protection infrastructure. The project development team takes on similar projects and has experience in PPPs.
The restructuring and insolvency team represents distressed parties and creditors and works on cross-border restructurings and large domestic bankruptcies.

The banking team advised both borrowers and lenders across a wide range of financing transactions. In a notable example on the project finance side, the firm advised a syndicate of lenders in the financing of the A9 road project. The firm also took on financial services regulatory work, acting for clients such as Uber.
An interesting capital markets deal saw the firm advise Daimler International Finance on the first establishment of a Panda Programme as well as the first panda bond issuance by a Dutch issuer. Other recent work includes advising on international IPOs, bond issues, debt issuance programmes, follow on offerings and securitisations.
Recent corporate highlights include advising the Peugeot family and Bpifrance on Peugeot’s merger with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles; advising HAL Investments on the sale of a stake in GrandVision; and assisting Mylan on its merger with Pfizer's spin-off Upjohn.
The projects team was active in sectors including transport, technology, real estate, and construction.
In restructuring, the firm advised lenders and debtors on multiple high value mandates. Examples include acting for Agrokor in its high value cross border restructuring and advising several financial institutions on a high-value confidential restructuring.
During the review period, corporate partner Martin Grablowitz and banking partner Walter Schellekens left the firm.
