Overview:

  • GMéxico Transportes, the transport division of Grupo México, has acquired Florida East Coast [FEC] Railway Holdings from the Fortress Investment Group.
  • This is an all-cash transaction and is valued at $2.1 billion. 
  • Fortress acquired FEC in 2007. 
  • FEC is a rail provider which operates along the east coast of Florida. 
  • BBVA Bancomer and Credit Suisse acted as financial advisers to the buyer.
  • Barclays and Morgan Stanley acted as financial advisers to FEC.
