Overview:

  • The UK Ministry of Defence has undertaken an amendment to its 35 year Project Allenby/Connaught contract.
  • The original £8 billion programme was signed in 2006.
  • A joint venture between between Carillion and KBR is responsible for the construction of the project.
  • The project involves the construction of new accommodation for the British army, along with retail, leisure and office facilities, in Hampshire and Wiltshire. It is part of the Army Basing Programme.
  • The Army Basing Programme, which is jointly managed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and the British Army, is related to the return of UK troops from Germany by 2020.
