Consol Proprietary South Africa $60 million acquisition of Central Glass Industries

• Consol Proprietary South Africa, a South African glass packaging manufacturer, acquired Central Glass Industries from East African Breweries Limited, in a transaction valued at $60 million. 
• Central Glass Industries is a Kenya-based company which produces glass containers. 
• East African Breweries decided to leave the glass industry to focus on its alcohol business, which is its core business.  
• East African Breweries is listed on the Nairobi, Uganda and Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchanges.
• East African Breweries is a subsidiary of Diageo which is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
