Overview:

  • Belgium's largest cable and media company Telenet has completed its €1.325 billion acquisition of Belgium's third-largest mobile network company BASE.
  • Telenet is a subsidiary of international US telecommunications company Liberty Global.
  • BASE was sold by Dutch telecommunications company Koninklijke KPN.
  • As part of the acquisition, BASE sold its 50% stake in VikingCo to MEDIALAAN.
  • The deal was first announced in April, 2015.
