Overview:

  • EP Energy, through subsidiary EP Hungary, has acquired a 95% stake in Budapesti Erőmű (BERT) from EDF.
  • BERT is an energy company and owner of three gas fired co-generation power plants in Budapest.
  • The three plants are Kelenföld (188MW and 219MWth), Újpest (105MW and 347MWth) and Kispest (113MW and 282MWth).
  • Together they provide 60% of Budapest's heating needs and 3% of the country's electricity.
